Why we support the Tough Girl Podcast

Want something new to listen to? Then check out the ‘Tough Girl Podcast‘. It’s packed full of sport and adventure stories from inspirational women across the world.

Where did we find it?

We first came across it at the Women’s Adventure Expo in 2015 and have been hooked ever since. Sarah Williams (the podcast creator) has recently delivered the 200th episode featuring Chrissie Wellington, the world’s number one female Ironman.

Who is Sarah?

Sarah has had her fair share of adventures which she’s blogged about on her YouTube channel. She’s completed the Marathon des Sables, hiked 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail and cycled 4000km of the Pacific Coast Highway in the USA through to the Baja Divide in Mexico. Impressive stuff!

What’s the focus of the podcast?

Since starting the podcast from scratch, Sarah has interviewed a huge range of women from a multitude of sports. You can hear from cyclists, runners, hikers, explorers, kayakers, mountaineers, Olympians, pilots and many many more! You can even hear Ali’s episode about the long distance bike ride to Chamonix.

Each episode is about 45 mins to an hour long which is an ideal length for listening to during workouts, if you’re out running, cycling, or in the car.

“If you’re looking for inspiration then download a few episodes and give it a try – The MahoJos”

Her podcasts are free from adverts (refreshing these days), and there is a new episode to enjoy every week. She also runs a closed Facebook group and delivers additional content in ‘Podcast Extra’ episodes.

Financial support

A short while ago she set up a patrons programme which meant that listeners of the podcast could contribute to the running costs. This was something that we were happy to do, so we give a small amount each month in recognition of the fantastic content that we digest on a regular basis.
